The Triumph of the Scarlet Pimpernel

The Triumph of the Scarlet Pimpernel - Emmuska Orczy [These notes were made in 1984:]. I remember this one vividly from my childhood as the story where Percy is branded with an "M" on his forearm. It's marginally more implausible than some of the others (involving, as it does, a "double" in the coal-heaver Rateau), but the final confrontation with Chauvelin (Marguerite, as usual, having got herself imprisoned by him) is magnificent.
